We are looking for a graduate level Mechanical Designer / Mechanical Design Engineer to support our client based in Greater Manchester. This will be a permanent staff role and suitable for candidates with recent graduate level education and between 1 and 4 years prior working experience. Some familiarity with typical CAD software applications will be necessary - ideally Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks. Candidates should also possess a desire to work in the process industry sector as well as some relevant prior knowledge and experience within a relevant industry be it petrochem, chemical, water, nuclear, pharma or a related design and manufacturing environment. Candidates MUST possess existing eligibility to work in the UK via existing residency or work permit.

They will be assigned to ongoing projects within the process industry sector and work under the guidance and mentorship of a senior design engineer to progress and establish themselves within the company. Over time they will be given the opportunity to improve their engineering design skills, taking on individual pieces of work, and develop further experience by gaining exposure to new projects and equipments used within the industry.
Full time office based role working 7.30am - 3.45pm
Typical Engineering Design duties - with support and guidance under the mentor of a senior design engineer
- Undertake engineering design, analysis, and calculations to underpin our equipment designs.
- Participate in design reviews, and recommend design modifications to improve functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to ensure successful project completion.
- Support in the development of concepts and design solutions for new technology, including planning, testing and verification activities.
- Producing technical reports, specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Produce 3D CAD models and drawings for detailed design.
- Review and approve reports, CAD models and drawings for junior engineers
- Liaise and build relationships with key suppliers to procure fabrication of bespoke machinery frames.
