We are currently seeking a Construction Manager/ experienced Construction Supervisor - possessing a mechanical background to support our client working in the process industry / chemical sector. This is a UK based temporary contract role and so all applicants must possess EXISTING eligibility to work in the UK without need for additional sponsorship or work permit.
This will be to work on a contract basis – initially 6 months duration with the possibility for further extensions subject to workload. This role falls outside of IR35 and so Limited Company contractors / self employed can operate. Rates are expected to be around £45 per hour subject to level of experience and suitability.
The workscope will be focusing on the retrofit of an Anaerobic Digestion plant near Northwich. As a site role only, remote working is not possible due to status as the principal contractor and the duties that come with the role. Therefore there is no opportunity for hybrid or remote working, and as no additional expense allowance or package is available, candidates should be based in the local area or within a commutable distance.
Required experience and qualifications:
- Strong background in UK onshore construction management, particularly within the Chemical, Petrochemical, or Pharmaceutical sectors (this experience is essential).
- Proven experience acting as Principal Contractor under CDM regulations, working with design teams and managing multi-discipline contractors.
- Mechanical (bias) with EC&I experience highly desirable.
- Ideally SMSTS and or NEBOSH qualified
- Valid CCNSG or CSCS card.
- Solid experience in subcontractor management, package procurement support, design development, quality management, health & safety, and liaising with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
