We are currently looking to support our client operating in the subsea sector with a requirement for a Principal Survey Specialist on a 12 month contract based in London. A description is given below and candidates should ideally possess at least 10 years prior industrial experience in a similar role, and a degree in Surveying or a Survey related discipline.
Rates have not been confirmed and are negotiable to level of experience, and it is understood that this role is classified outside IR35.
Based in a London area office, the position shall involve working alongside the installation team to manage the survey scope of a large SURF Project to be executed in West Africa, and support local MAO requirements as needed.
The position requires experience in offshore installation activities including LBL positioning, deep-water structures installation, spool metrology, flowline installation, umbilical installation, as-built surveys, Out of Straightness Surveys including associated reporting. The candidate must have the ability to autonomously manage a survey sub-contractor on company or third-party vessels and plan and execute mobilization and installation activities.
The position is primarily office based, however the candidate will be required to perform some time offshore on third party vessels and company assets as required by ongoing operations and mobilizations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
o Promote company and Project HSE and Quality policies.
o Responsible for generating the Scope of Work for shallow and deepwater (2,800m) pipelay, umbilical, structure installations and metrology ops in line with company and Client specifications.
o Required to manage the Survey sub-contractor executing the onshore and offshore scopes of work and as part of the role will be required to attend short work assignments at the port of mobilization and as-required on the offshore vessel to oversee the work. Responsible for ensuring the scope of work deliverables are of high-quality and satisfy the Engineering requirements and Client specifications.
o Provide technical support to the installation team and manage the survey subcontractor/s undertaking work on company & third-party vessels. You will be responsible for all survey technical planning, review of procedural documentation, personnel vetting, logistics support, and review and approval of Field Reports & Final Survey deliverables.
o Conduct sub-contractor mobilization and equipment calibration audits to ensure readiness and compliance with contract and company specifications.
o Review and vet new technologies proposed by survey subcontractors in conjunction with Global Survey Manager
o Liaise with Company site representatives on Survey matters
o Prepare for and participate in Constructability and HAZID reviews
o Assist in compilation of as-built documentation for delivery to Client.
o Support the Area on other survey related items
o Other tasks that maybe later defined by management
