DATS are looking for an experienced HSEQ Advisor/ Manager to join our client on a staff (or potentially  contract) . Our client is Engineering Solution provider specialising in delivering high-quality services in our core sectors - Process, Process Safety, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) systems and solutions.

The role is based in the North West but the client operates throughout the UK .

Coming out of Covid our client has ambitious growth plans over the next 5 years.

Our client will also consider experienced candidates who are looking for a more flexible approach to work and who wish to achieve a better work life balance. So the client would consider candidates looking for say 3 days per week.

The Role

Our client requires an EHSQ Advisor/Manager to ensure health & safety in the

company's operational activities.

Reporting to Company Directors/Management, the role will involve liaison with all company personnel, clients and sub-contractors.

The EHSQ Advisor/Manager will ensure that the company fully adheres to

statutory, regulatory and industry standards throughout all its activities.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

Preparation of risk assessments & method statements (RAMS)

Review/upgrade generic Risk Assessments

Preparation of Site Activity Risk Assessments (SARAs)

CDM co-ordination activities & duties

Preparation of Construction Phase Plans

Ongoing liaison with Site Services & Compliance Management

supporting site operations

Preparation, organisation & presentation of ESHQ training courses to

support the business needs

Lead/support ISO accreditation reviews

Maintain & support the roll out of quality systems and procedures to

new starters

Update & maintenance of legal register

Support the company’s HR department, ensuring all relevant and

updated ESHQ documentation is correctly recorded.

Carry out regular site inspections/site audits to ensure that work is being

carried out in accordance with the client’s  policy & procedures.

Customer liaison on ESHQ requirements and attend client ESHQ

meetings

Monitor all projects for EHSQ input requirements

Attend project planning meetings

Preparation of ESHQ reports

Identifying areas for continual improvement of EHSQ activities

Advise and support the client’s managers & supervisors

Advise on PPE requirements, ensuring personnel are compliant for client

site requirements

Monitor condition of tools/equipment/in-house plant

Maintenance of Asset register

Carry out accident & incident investigations and reporting

Make recommendations on accidents/incidents to prevent

reoccurrence

Contribute to and monitor the company Training Plan to ensure both

office and site personnel have current and suitable site certifications.

Distribution of health & safety information and training materials to all

personnel

Recommend and arrange internal & external training courses for client’s

personnel

Annual review & update of company Health & Safety policy

Update and maintenance of CHAS & Achilles certification

Pre-qualification of sub-contractors

Completing of Pre-qualification documentation for clients

Organise and partake in bi-annual health & safety management review.

New employee safety inductions

Early involvement in ongoing and/or upcoming projects

Organisation & management of EHSQ Files

Site inspections — fortnightly/monthly

Toolbox talks – planning, delivery and reporting

Managing Health & Safety Plans

Inspection of fall-arrest equipment-Ladders LOLER/ PUWER (CCS)

Advising on manual handling equipment (pallet truck / forks /slings)

Application of HSE regulatory requirements

COSHH assessments

Fire Risk Assessment/Fire training/Fire marshal

Safety Planning (half-yearly review)

Environmental guidance

 

Skills and experience

CDM training to CDM 2015 requirements

NEBOSH qualification (construction or general cert as minimum)

Trade qualification to NVQ3 level / HNC or similar (Advantageous but

not essential)

Experience

Minimum of 5 years previous experience in an EHSQ role

Relevant industrial experience

Engineering or construction background (Advantageous)

Hands-on Industrial site experience

Sound environmental knowledge

Experience of maintaining ISO9001:15 accreditation
