We are currently looking to support our client with a requirement for a Contracts Engineer on a 6 month contract basis to be based in the Republic of Ireland (County Kildare). This could extend based on further requirements and will be to start in early October. Due to Covid 19 quarantine restrictions the client would prefer candidates currently based in the Republic /Northern Ireland, but not exclusively and initial mobilisation/demobilisation cost for none Irish candidates will be reimbursed. A description is given below - however candidates should have good prior quantity surveying experience. Rates are negotiable and candidates will need to provide their negotiable expectations. Work schedule: basic 5 days per week (10 hours per day), must also be flexible.
1. Scope of Responsibilities
Assist for all activities related to quantity survey related to:
(i) Quantity measurement for Subcontractors work;
(ii) Keeping back-up record of completed works in comparison with BOQs;
(iii) Review of Subcontractor interim payments (Quantities and Rates);
(iv) Review of quantities related to any variation or claim;
(v) Review on final measure;
(vi) Communication and getting directions from Subcontracts Manager;
during project construction phase until close-out.
o Assist the team pro-actively to meet project requirements; review and comment on quantities and rates for subcontractors' interim payments.
o Adhere to the work system for material take - off (based on drawings, specifications, and BOQs), detailing amount of work completed supported by spreadsheets and relevant drawings.
o Maintain records of Material take-off MTO and track Bill of Quantities BOQs Measurements according to approved drawings.
o Maintain record of the free issue materials, manpower and equipment, sourced when the subcontractor is unable to directly source the same.
o Assist in determining the extent and value of work executed for interim payments to subcontractors.
o Assist in assessing quantities related to subcontract variations or claims.
o Coordinate, verify and keep track of third party services on day-to-day basis directly hired by the company. Verify and comment on third party quantities and invoices.
o Implementation and adherence to HSE and Quality System procedures and plans.
o Carry out other related duties as directed by Subcontracts Manager.
o Check, measure, verify and maintain records of as-built vs. site measurements.
o Assist the team on final account measurement with subcontractors.
o Assist in approving quantity measurements and related rates for interim invoices submitted by subcontractors.
o Assist in measurement of quantities related to subcontract variations and claims.
o Keep detailed record sheets and drawings related to work completed and invoiced.

Physical Effort and Work Environment
o Based on Project site until Project completion. Duties are performed in a site office with regular site visits.
Minimum Job Requirement
o A graduate university degree or diploma in Engineering or Quantity Surveying, experienced Tradesman with computer literacy and measurement experience.
o Good experience in quantity survey, technical knowledge, take-off, site measurement, rates and payments. A relevant experience or Project exposure of similar jobs shall be considered as well.
