HAZOP/SIL Facilitators
We are currently seeking HAZOP/SIL Facilitators with availability in their schedules between November 2026 and April 2027 for work taking place in Reading on a major petrochemical project. At this stage no information on dates are confirmed or the amount of work that might be required and we are just seeking candidates who could be interested and potentially available. The work could potentially be split across a few candidates if you only have availability for some of that period so we would be interested to hear from anyone in that regard. This would be for blocks of work and multiple sessions taking place in Reading - so necessary to be on site.
This will operate outside of IR35 so limited companies can operate and rates will be negotiable and in line with candidate’s usual charge rates for this type of work. Skills and Experience
HAZOP and SIL Review Facilitators shall be independent of the project and meet the following requirements:
- 10 years of industry experience,
- 5 years of HAZOP facilitation experience, including multiple HAZOPs
- 5 years of SIL/LOPA facilitation experience
- Certified Functional Safety Engineer qualification
Skills required include:
- facilitation
- hazard identification
- understanding and appropriate use of probability, failure rate, frequency, etc.
- sufficient Human Factors understanding to provide guidance/clarity on suitable human error probabilities and be able to seek specialist advice when required
- the ability to develop actionable recommendations.
