Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Warwick | Hybrid Working (2 days in office)
Salary: £48,000–£55,000 + Car Allowance

About the Role
We’re currently looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a well-established multidisciplinary engineering environment delivering technically challenging projects across a variety of sectors, including nuclear and defence.
This role suits an experienced engineer who enjoys tackling complex structural challenges, taking ownership of design packages, and supporting the development of junior engineers. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality structural solutions while influencing design approaches and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design packages for small to medium-sized projects or manage key elements within large multidisciplinary schemes
- Produce and review structural calculations, models, drawings, and technical specifications
- Apply UK design codes including Eurocodes, National Annexes, and British Standards
- Carry out detailed structural analysis using recognised industry software
- Contribute to project planning and provide progress updates to senior engineers
- Support tender preparation, fee proposals, and development of technical scopes
- Deliver practical, efficient structural solutions that enhance buildability and sustainability
- Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development
Team & Reporting Structure
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and graduate engineers
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and sectors
- Provide technical oversight and support to junior team members
- Report to an Associate or Principal Engineer
Requirements
Essential
- Chartered Structural Engineer (CEng MIStructE or CEng MICE with strong structural focus)
- Engineers working towards chartership may also be considered at Engineer level
- Strong experience delivering structural design for complex building or infrastructure projects
- Technical expertise across:
- Steel, concrete, timber, and masonry design
- Foundation design (shallow and deep)
- Structural assessments and refurbishment works
- Proficiency in structural design software such as:
- Tekla Structural Designer
- STAAD
- Robot
- Tedds
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
- Knowledge of BIM workflows and Navisworks
- Understanding of CDM regulations and structural safety requirements
- CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
Desirable
- Experience with dynamic or seismic analysis
- Experience within highly regulated environments such as nuclear or defence
Security & Eligibility Requirements
Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must:
- Be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC) or higher
- Hold British citizenship
- Be eligible to work in sectors requiring security clearance (no visa sponsorship available)
- Eligibility for Developed Vetting (DV) is advantageous but not essential
