Safety & Criticality Engineer | Northwest | £65k–£85k + benefits
We’re looking for a Safety & Criticality Engineer to join a leading nuclear and energy organisation. This is a hands-on role supporting criticality and nuclear hazard assessments for complex engineering projects.
You’ll be:
- Performing design safety analysis for nuclear and high-hazard systems.
- Conducting and following up on HAZOP, HAZAN, HAZID studies.
- Producing criticality safety and dose calculations using MONK and MCNP.
- Reviewing and contributing to safety documentation and licence submissions.
- Providing technical support to project teams and customers on safety matters.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in safety analysis, ideally with criticality focus.
- Hands-on experience with MONK, MCNP, or equivalent tools.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Eligibility for or holding DV Security Clearance.
- Flexible approach, occasional travel or out-of-hours work.
