Description

We are looking to support our client – a civil/structural consultancy firm - with a requirement for a Structural Engineer / Technician.

This will be a permanent staff role to start as soon as reasonably possible on a full-time hours basis, located out of an office based in Warrington.  Within reason home working will be possible, but a good balance between office based and home work will be expected as well as regular travel for site visits and site meetings – withing the local area and further afield on occasion. Salary figures will be negotiable to candidate’s suitability and prior level of experience. Packages will include 36hr week, 22 holiday days a year, expenses, pension, sick pay, bonus scheme, and flexible working.

This role would suit a structural candidate with around 3 years’ experience looking to work in a supportive environment for a busy company with multiple ongoing projects and offering lots of opportunities for progression into other areas, senior roles, and even project management. Projects will vary across different sectors but will all relate to erection of industrial units and buildings from initial site assessments and design through to construction. Candidates should know the essentials of how to put a building together and have good prior site experience. They need to be able to hold their own in front of a client and have the desire to take in more responsibilities ultimately leading to running small projects independently – with project lifespans around 6-12 months.

The successful candidate should possess basic CAD skills as a minimum and have some familiarity with AutoCAD, and ideally other packages used within the building sector (BIM or others). They will work with the company’s team lead to produce design packages. They will be taught how to use a structural design package to design and schedule foundations themselves. Once a job is on site, they will also deal with site queries and attend sites as required, and eventually take the lead in managing the jobs on site.

A further description is given below but the client will be flexible to consider candidates possessing enough related experience to be able to accomplish some if not all of the tasks described. If this could interest and you would like to apply or learn more please contact me with an updated copy of your CV and information on your current situation and availability to start a new role. Applicants must possess existing eligibility to work in country via residency or current work permit.
