Senior Mechanical/Piping Designer (Utilities)
DATS Recruitment is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical/Piping Designer to join a leading engineering organisation operating within the utilities sector. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term career development and involvement in essential infrastructure projects across the region.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering concept, developed and detailed design work for mechanical pipework and associated mechanical services installations. This includes producing 3D models, piping isometrics, general arrangement drawings, bills of materials, design risk registers, support steelwork details, valve and equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
Your work will follow approved design guides, standards and customer requirements. The role also includes undertaking site surveys and supporting installation activities where required.
What We’re Looking For
We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
- HNC or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Strong experience within the utilities sector, ideally across clean and wastewater
- Knowledge of industry standards within the water sector
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Plant 3D
- A solid understanding of mechanical and piping design principles
