Location: North West

We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected engineering client who is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their expanding projects team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a wide range of innovative projects, supporting industries that are shaping the future of engineering.

About the Role

In this position, you’ll provide specialist electrical and instrumentation expertise across multiple projects, ensuring all design work is delivered safely, accurately and in line with client expectations. You’ll be involved from initial concept through to construction, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver high-quality, integrated design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality electrical and instrumentation design deliverables

  • Prepare design documentation and installation drawings in accordance with BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations

  • Carry out site surveys and provide support during construction phases

  • Work collaboratively with Mechanical, Process, HVAC and Civil Engineering teams

  • Provide input into hazardous area design, including intrinsically safe calculations and inspection schedules

  • Coordinate multiple priorities and deliverables effectively

About You

  • HNC/Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline

  • Demonstrable experience producing electrical installation designs, ideally within utilities or related sectors

  • Strong understanding of BS7671 (18th Edition) and CDM Regulations 2015

  • Experience working with instrumentation loop diagrams, cable calculations and communication network diagrams

  • Competent user of AutoCAD LT, Relux/Dialux, Trimble (Amtech) Pro Design Suite and Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of Aveva, Navisworks or Revit would be beneficial

  • Clear and confident communication skills, with excellent attention to detail
