Planner
Greater Manchester | £50,000 – £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience) | Permanent
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planner to support the delivery of complex construction and infrastructure projects across the Northwest. This role offers the chance to work within a technically driven organisation, recognised for delivering high-quality, safety-focused projects that play a key role in maintaining and improving essential infrastructure.
The Role
As Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring detailed project schedules to ensure successful and timely delivery. Working closely with project managers, engineers and site teams, you will identify potential risks, support tender planning and lead project reviews to maintain accuracy and progress.
This position will suit an organised and proactive individual with a strong understanding of construction methodologies and a commitment to achieving project excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage project schedules using planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject or MS Project
• Support the planning function across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with key milestones and deliverables
• Lead Plan-Do-Review meetings and progress updates
• Identify and communicate potential risks or schedule deviations
• Collaborate with project and site teams to support performance and continuous improvement
• Contribute to tender planning and bid support activities
Requirements
• Degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience in construction or infrastructure planning
• Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject or MS Project
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Familiarity with NEC or JCT contracts (advantageous)
• Knowledge of BIM and digital construction tools (desirable)
• Professional membership of APM, CIOB or a similar body (beneficial)
