Electrical Designer Job ID: Location: South Manchester Contract Type: Permanent
About the Role
We are looking for an Electrical Designers to join our client’s expanding team in the North West. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on responsibility as a mid-level designer, contributing to essential infrastructure projects from concept through to detailed design.
You will be involved in producing reports, scopes of work, layouts, and drawings, ensuring designs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Working closely with experienced engineers and client teams, you will play a key role in project delivery while further developing your expertise.
Your responsibilities will include preparing design drawings for power, lighting, and fire safety systems, supporting electrical O&M models, and coordinating with engineers to achieve successful outcomes. This is a hybrid role, with three days per week on site following probation.
What You’ll Need
- Degree or HNC in Electrical, Building Services, or a related engineering discipline
- 2–4 years’ experience in electrical design, ideally with exposure to infrastructure or industrial projects
- Good knowledge of LV distribution, lighting, fire safety, and cabling systems
- Competence with AutoCAD LT and at least one of Relux/Dialux, Trimble, or Navisworks (Revit advantageous)
- Understanding of UK design standards and regulations (CDM 2015 awareness desirable)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage your own workload and contribute effectively within a project team
- Eligibility to obtain HORUS security clearance
