Business Development Manager

Are you a natural sales hunter with a proven record of winning new B2B business and a strong understanding of the printing industry? This is your chance to take a leading role in driving growth for a UK-based print specialist. With a full in-house operation covering lithographic, digital, wide-format printing and specialist finishing, our client delivers rapid turnaround, versatile solutions, and premium quality to clients nationwide.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, your focus is clear: generate new business and open new markets. You will be responsible for identifying prospects, building relationships from scratch, and converting opportunities into profitable long-term contracts. You’ll showcase the value of their end-to-end printing capabilities—whether high-quality litho, fast-turnaround digital, wide-format graphics, or bespoke solutions—and demonstrate how their services give clients a competitive edge.

This is a role for a true hunter, not a farmer: success will come from your ability to open doors, secure meetings, and close deals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a new business acquisition strategy targeting high-value markets and clients.
  • Proactively prospect, cold call, and network to generate a strong pipeline of leads.
  • Present and pitch tailored print solutions that deliver measurable value to clients.
  • Win new contracts, negotiate terms, and secure profitable outcomes.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and competitor activity to identify fresh opportunities.
  • Build credibility as a specialist in print, positioning the company as a go-to partner.
  • Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums to expand reach.
  • Report regularly on pipeline, forecasts, and performance against ambitious new business targets.

About You – Essential

  • A proven new business sales hunter with demonstrable B2B success.
  • In-depth knowledge of the printing industry (litho, digital, wide-format, and related processes).
  • Strong ability to generate leads, open doors, and close deals.
  • Driven by results, comfortable exceeding challenging targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and highly organised.
  • Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools to manage your pipeline.

Desirable

  • Experience in the printing industry (production, sales, or technical).
  • Existing network in relevant sectors (retail, leisure, membership, or security).
  • Exposure to both traditional and modern print technologies.
