DATS Engineering is working on behalf of a leading client in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, and healthcare sectors to recruit an experienced CAD / Revit User (Electrical). This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-quality, regulated environments including cleanrooms, laboratories, and other advanced facilities.
This role is based in Rochdale, reporting to the Mechanical Design Lead Engineer. You’ll play a key part in the design and coordination of electrical services across complex engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design
Interpret and develop design concepts into detailed and coordinated drawings. Produce high-quality schematics and layouts using AutoCAD and Revit. Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. Support the development of apprentices and junior engineers. Ensure all outputs comply with relevant standards, including BIM Level 2 and RIBA stages.
Health, Safety & Environment
Ensure design outputs meet current legislation and best practices. Prepare quality design risk assessments and control measures in line with CDM regulations.
Quality
Deliver design documentation to a high standard, supporting efficient on-site installation. Work in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures.
Technical Skills
AutoCAD
Schematic layout and presentation drawing creation Model Space / Paper Space use, scaling, and viewport setup Use of XREFs, layers, lineweights, blocks and attributes Plot configuration and adherence to CAD standards
Revit
Creation of fully coordinated MEP models from design input Familiarity with Central Files and collaborative workflows Good understanding of BIM processes, templates, titleblocks, shared/project parameters Skilled in view control using visibility graphics, filters, and templates Exporting models and 2D drawing presentation Clash detection using Revit or Navisworks
Additional software experience (e.g. Dynamo, Virtual Reality tools, image enhancement software) and knowledge of common data environments/document management systems would be advantageous.
Additional Duties
Conduct site surveys and create “As-Built” drawings/models Prepare documentation and transmittals for statutory submissions
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum ONC qualification in a relevant discipline Full UK driving licence At least five years' experience in design and coordination within the building services sector Previous work in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or cleanroom environments preferred Familiarity with ISO 9001, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite Strong understanding of CDM regulations Clear, confident communicator and team player Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
