Our client is recruiting for a Sustainability & Communications Coordinator. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will drive the delivery of our Sustainability strategic plan. You will also coordinate Communications and support Health, Safety & Environmental initiatives.
Our client operates in the nuclear industry and any candidate will need to be able to achieve SC level security clearance BEFORE they will be able to start . This will take over 12 weeks to achieve for a UK passport holder.
Key Accountabilities
Sustainability
- Deliver the strategic plan for sustainability initiatives
- Develop future strategic plans for sustainability initiatives
- Coordinate with the Sustainability Project team and key stakeholders to ensure that initiatives are implemented timely and successfully
- Promote employee engagement initiatives to drive and embed a sustainable culture
- Embed sustainability into current processes and procedures
- Monitor and advise on legislation and market trends to plan future initiatives and activities to promote sustainability
- Identify and implement improved sustainable office initiatives eg recycling
- Coordinate and chair the Charitable Donations/Sustainability Committee
- Promote sustainability working with the local community, schools, universities and other organisations
- Support the development and implementation of Environmental management processes in line with ISO 14001
- Review and collate supplier information regarding sustainability
Communications
- Coordinate Communication activities, initiatives and projects
- Represent the UK site for Group Communication activities and initiatives
- Collation of articles for the Company bi-annual publication ‘One Team’
- Distribution of ‘One Team’
- Distribution of Company Notices
- Maintain HSE, Sustainability & Communications intranet and internet websites
Experience & Qualifications
- Good secondary education to at least A Level or Higher National Diploma Level
- Environmental Certification or willingness to obtain qualification
- Sustainability & Environment advocate
- Effective project management, planning and organisation skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and data capture systems
- Forward thinking and confident in identifying and implementing change
- Performance driven
- Effective communication & influencing skills
