We are currently looking to support our client based in Surrey, UK with a requirement for a Procurement Specialist with civils experience and expertise to join their industrial gases division on a 12 month contract basis. Hourly rate expectations will also need to be provided, and as we are yet to hear if these roles are likely to fall within the scope of IR35, candidates should have made suitable preparations for this possibility. Candidate with procurement experience in the Civil Engineering projects domain, and experience with delivering year on year costs reductions / costs savings to set targets.
Contracts negotiation, suppliers/commodities sourcing, CIPS qualified.
Procurement for office construction, site ground work, drainage, electrical, roof replacements etc.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate track records of similar roles on UK
Job Description and Qualifications
The Purpose of the role is to manage cost and supplier risks for site construction and maintenance services such as civil, scaffolding, installation, piping components, heavy engineering capital equipment and spares for all our manufacturing sites in the UK and Ireland.
Daily activities and contribution:
" Deliver year on year cost reduction and beat inflation costs that contributes to the regional target.
" Minimise supply risks by proactively identify high risk suppliers and deploying a risk mitigation plan.
" Raise procurement's profile with the organisation by effectively communicating with stakeholders and sharing successes stories.
" Drive supplier relation management initiatives with critical suppliers to extract the best value through partnership and driving supplier innovation.
" Develop category plans and drive execution of the plan for cost reduction, risk reduction and process improvement.
" Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the respective commodities within the deadlines.
" Develop and manage relationship with internal stakeholders, share and communicate the category plans and provide regular updates.
" Participate in all service level review agreements for the major existing contracts with suppliers and resolve all commercial issues
" Identify areas for improvement in procurement to pay process or any other process related to the specific category
" Manage and resolve any conflicts/ non-conformance with existing suppliers related to service performance or other issues such as invoice discrepancy.
" Review terms and conditions for new contracts, work with legal team to ensure that all commercial and legal risks are mitigated through appropriate commercial and legal clauses.
" Engage stakeholders at all levels to get the required support on the recommended sourcing strategy.
" Drafting and implementing supplier agreements, appraising their performance against KPI's
Ideal skills and experience:
" Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain
" CIPS qualification
" Self-disciplined, self-motivated, demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal direction, and good analytical skills.
" Demonstrate prioritization, planning, and follow-up skills in a multi-tasking environment.
" Excellent communication skills with ability to manage relationships at all levels in the organisation.
" Capable of handling detailed and complex contract negotiations.
" Experience in leading and developing sourcing strategies, understanding commercial and legal purchasing terms and conditions.
" Good understanding and experience in managing categories such as site construction (civil, scaffolding, installation, craneage and others), capital equipment, maintenance and spares
