Field Service Engineer

Our client has been in business for over 30 years. They have been providing energy, environmental and maintenance solutions for major process, production and manufacturing companies across a variety of industries, covering the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Their capital project team is based in the Cheshire and they specialise in delivering “turnkey” process and equipment upgrades.

Their niche market is thermal oxidisers and energy recovery units frequently used on packaging in the food industry.

Responsibilities

This new staff position is due to organic growth and is within our client’s follow up and maintenance business.

· Carrying out maintenance and calibration service visits, covering thermal oil heaters, central duct work systems, thermal oxidisers, bio filtration plants, scrubber systems, solvent safety monitoring systems.

· Test, repair and carry out remedial actions upon, thermal oil heaters, central duct work systems, thermal oxidisers, bio filtration plants, scrubber systems and solvent monitoring systems,

· Provide advice and technical support to customers.

· Provide detailed site visit reports, as per the company standards.

· Work closely with the operations team, to ensure that all our customers, get the best service possible.

· Work closely with the sales team, to ensure replacement parts specifications and scope of remedial works, are clear and understood, to enable the sales team to provide the necessary quotation for the respective works.

The position will require weekly travel to client sites within UK and Ireland with the occasional visit to Europe.

Skills and experience

  • Knowledge of thermal oxidisers is desirable, but not essential.

Otherwise our client is looking for candidates with experience working for industrial burner companies  servicing ovens, furnaces, kilns, dryers.

  • Mechanical or electrical qualification (NVQ, HNC, HND, Apprenticeship), essential.
  • Gas Safe Certification (covering CDGA1, CIGA1, COCN1, CORT1, TPCP1 and TPCP1A), essential.
  • Knowledge of industrial burners and fault finding.
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications / drawings.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe (when required).
  • Good communication and organisation skills.
  • Presentable appearance.
  • Dynamic , self- motivated individuals.

Pay and benefits

Salary range £30-40K

  • 37.5 hours per week, additional hours are required.
  • Planned training scheme.

  • 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 after 5 year’s continuous employment.
