We are currently seeking an Instrumentation & Telecoms Maintenance Supervisor to work in Iraq, Basra on an expatriate basis - on a major oil field project and operating on a rotational basis of 28 days on and 28 days off. As well as rotational flights, camp-based accommodation including all meals will be provided and this is expected to be needed for around 2 years in total. Salary figures have not been released and candidate’s current remuneration details along with expectations must be provided in advance in order to comply with their application procedure.
A description is given below but candidates will need to be fluent in English language and hold a minimum qualification level of diploma, along with oil and gas sector experience and strong experience in Instrument / Telecom installation and maintenance. The role is to be responsible for planning, supervising, and carrying out maintenance on the oil field’s communication, alarm, telecom and data-network systems

You will be responsible for planning and scheduling all Public Address-General Alarm (PA-GA) and ICSS internal data transmission network and maintenance activities according to maintenance policy/program and availability of spare parts and materials, equipment and tools, so as to minimize equipment downtime, disruption to production operations and ensure the safe operability of the plant.
Review of maintenance specifications based on internal and International Standards, best practices, and legislative requirements
Main responsibilities:
- Analyses approved PA-GA systems and Instrument data transmission Network work requests and definition of work to be executed in their respect
- Establishes necessary resources to execute each work (manpower, materials, tools, contractors, etc.)
- Checks the availability of materials with respect to the established work dates
- Executes the weekly work scheduling and distribution to the concerned units
- Carry out independently or with the support of contractors the work to check and to eliminate the faults in ICSS data transmission networks, public address systems including loudspeakers network, beacons, microphones, structured cabling systems, fibre optics and Data Network equipment such as, but not limited to, fibre-optic cables, fibre-optic patch panels, routers, network switches.
- Supervision and coordination of Contractor’s activities and work feedback analysis in order to improve maintenance plans, efficiency and processes
- Knowledge of international standards applied to the oil industry in respect of Telecom Network and PA-GA systems.
- Evaluation of technical offers for either services or materials
- Ensure that the internal and contractor equipment tools are adequate, suitable and kept in working order
Responsibilities concerning HSE:
- To demonstrate personal engagement in the HSE domain while respecting policies and standards
- Attend mandatory and optional training as required
Skills and experience required:
- Technical diploma in Electronic/Telecom/Automation branch
- Experience in Oil & Gas Industry
- Experienced in Instrument / Telecom / PA-GA system installation and maintenance
