Warrington / Cumbria (hybrid)

3 days on site, 2 days remote

£44.50 per hour PAYE (inside IR35)

6+ month contract

About the role

We are seeking two experienced Reporting Engineers to join a Project Controls team supporting major energy-sector projects. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions that turn complex project data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with strong Power BI, Excel, and project controls experience who enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and maintain reporting systems, dashboards, and data processes.

  2. Analyse complex project and performance data to generate meaningful insights and visualisations.

  3. Collaborate with project controls, engineering, operations, and management teams to define reporting requirements.

  4. Optimise existing reports and dashboards for performance, usability, and accessibility.

  5. Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and enhancements for reporting solutions.

  6. Produce project reporting outputs such as manpower histograms, Gantt charts, and S-curves with minimal supervision.

  7. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and adherence to quality and HSE standards.

What we're looking for

Essential

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years’ post-graduate experience, including 3+ years in a PMO or Project Controls reporting environment within the energy sector (oil & gas, renewables, or nuclear).

  • Advanced Power BI skills and strong Excel capability.

  • Experience with reporting tools such as Microsoft Fabric, Tableau, or similar platforms.

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis tools/languages.

  • Strong analytical, organisational, communication, and report-writing skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across engineering, operations, and management functions.

  • Must hold a UK passport.

Desirable

  • Professional certification such as PMP.

  • Knowledge of core Project Controls disciplines and baseline development/maintenance.

Security clearance

Security clearance is required for this role. Candidates without current clearance may be supported through the clearance process.

Contract details

  • Inside IR35 – successful candidates must be engaged via the PAYE route only.

  • Base rate: £44.50 per hour (excluding holiday pay and pension contribution).

  • Start date: ASAP.

  • Duration: 6 months+, with potential extension.
