Shipping Coordinator
Location: Kintore
Pay Rate: £17.44 – £18.97 per hour plus holiday pay
Duration: 12-month contract
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Flexible start/finish times)
Monday–Thursday 8:00–17:00, Friday 8:00–12:30 (flexible working available)
Working Arrangement: Office-based (5 days preferred, flexibility at manager discretion)
Holiday Entitlement: 29 days (after 12 weeks)
We are currently recruiting for a Shipping Coordinator to join our client’s site in Kintore. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics professional with strong import and export knowledge to support the safe and timely movement of products and materials.
Working closely with internal departments and external partners, you will play a key role in coordinating shipments, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and maintaining efficient customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise import and export shipments, including obtaining freight quotations and preparing shipping documentation
- Liaise with internal departments to gather required shipment information
- Communicate with customers and coordinate collections in line with FCA Incoterms
- Prepare accurate shipping documentation, including commercial invoices and shipping orders
- Ensure all import and export activities comply with HMRC regulations and company procedures
- Work closely with brokerage teams to ensure correct customs regimes are applied
- Coordinate with Sales, Production, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth material movement
- Monitor shipment progress and address delays or issues such as damaged or incorrectly packed goods
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation
- Update production schedules and provide delivery updates to stakeholders
- Support internal and external audits as required
- Carry out additional duties as required to support business needs
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
- Solid knowledge of logistics import and export procedures, including customs regulations and Incoterms 2020
- Experience managing international shipments by sea, air, and road
- Understanding of key logistics documentation (e.g. CIPL, BOL, AWB, CMR, MRN)
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Desirable:
- HND in a relevant business or logistics qualification (or equivalent experience)
- CILT qualification
- IATA, IMDG, or ADR Dangerous Goods certification
