QC Laboratory Technician – Standish
We are currently recruiting for a QC Laboratory Technician to join a busy Quality Control team at an industrial manufacturing site in Standish.
This is a weekend night shift role, working three 12-hour shifts, making it an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking a condensed working week while maintaining full-time hours.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on laboratory experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out product testing during production and final analysis in line with specifications
- Test incoming materials as required
- Prepare pre-shipment samples and complete associated documentation
- Support project and development work when assigned
- Perform calibration checks in line with laboratory schedules
- Provide test method training to operators where required
- Issue clear process adjustment instructions to production teams
- Complete inspection and test procedures accurately and on time
- Identify non-conforming materials and support corrective actions
- Assist with investigations relating to quality issues and process failures
- Maintain accurate quality records and documentation
- Report any abnormal situations or incidents promptly
- Ensure all duties are carried out in compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Calibration experience
- Troubleshooting laboratory equipment and processes
- Understanding of sampling and product testing
- Experience within a chemical or process industry environment
- Familiarity with ISO management systems (9001, 14001, 45001)
- Root cause analysis and investigation experience
- Understanding of chemical processes
- Experience working on COMAH-regulated sites
Qualifications
Essential:
- BTEC or HNC in Chemistry (or equivalent Level 4 qualification)
Desirable:
- Degree in Chemistry or related subject
- IOSH Managing Safely
- First Aid qualification
- Internal Auditor training
