Senior Planning Engineer

Rate: £500–£550 per day (Umbrella)
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to support a major project within the water sector. This is a long-term contract opportunity for a highly capable planner who can quickly integrate into an established project team and deliver high-quality planning support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera
- Provide planning and scheduling expertise across engineering and construction activities
- Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or risks
- Produce regular progress reports and programme updates
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure programme accuracy
- Support project delivery through proactive planning and coordination
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Senior Planning Engineer within engineering or construction environments
- Proficient in Primavera (P6)
- Strong engineering background with the ability to understand complex project requirements
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively from day one
- Experience within ME&I (Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation) or construction environments would be highly advantageous
- Previous experience in the water sector is desirable but not essential
