Paint Sprayer – Industrial
 Middleton, Manchester
 Up to £15.49 per hour + shift allowance (equivalent to £17.81/ £20.14  per hour)
 6-month contract (potential temp-to-perm)
 2 positions available

We are currently recruiting for two experienced Industrial Paint Sprayers to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing site in Middleton, Manchester. This is a great opportunity to work within a busy production environment with the potential for a longer-term or permanent position for the right candidates.

The Role

As a Paint Sprayer, you will be responsible for carrying out surface preparation, spray painting and maintenance tasks to ensure components meet quality and safety standards. You will work within a dedicated paint shop environment supporting the production of industrial equipment and components.

Working Hours

Shift patterns are available:

Rotating Shift (15% shift allowance): £17.81 per hour

  • Mon–Thu: 06:00–14:00 | Fri: 06:00–12:00
  • Mon–Thu: 14:00–22:00 | Fri: 12:00–18:00

Night Shift (30% shift allowance): £20.14 per hour

  • Mon–Thu: 22:00–06:00 | Fri: 18:00–00:00

36 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out surface preparation, including sanding and masking prior to painting
  • Apply industrial coatings, undercoats and topcoats using spray painting equipment
  • Operate and maintain paint shop equipment such as paint guns, paint pots, air lines and respirators
  • Ensure coatings are applied to required quality and customer standards
  • Maintain paint booths, including filter changes and booth cleaning
  • Safely handle and dispose of paint waste and hazardous materials
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean, organised and maintained
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and continuous improvement activities
  • Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures within the paint shop

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Industrial Paint Sprayer
  • Experience using 2-pack spray paint systems
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced production environment
  • Experience working with overhead cranes is desirable

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • NVQ Level 3 in Industrial Paint Occupations or similar practical training in industrial paint spraying
