Rate: £175 per day (Umbrella) – Inside IR35

We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Buyer to join a busy procurement team on a 6-month contract basis. This role can be fully remote and offers the opportunity to support a high-volume procurement function, ensuring efficient processing of purchasing activities and supplier engagement.

The Role

The Procurement Buyer will be responsible for supporting the purchase-to-pay process, including raising purchase orders, managing supplier queries, coordinating quotations and ensuring procurement activities are completed in line with agreed service level agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase Order Management: Raise purchase orders using the company ERP system, ensuring compliance with the Preferred Supplier List (PSL) and operational SLAs.
  • Quotations: Prepare, issue and evaluate requests for quotations, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined and best value is achieved.
  • Goods Receipting: Process goods receipts through the ERP system in accordance with agreed timelines.
  • Query Management: Respond to procurement-related queries from internal stakeholders and support effective resolution within agreed SLAs.
  • Supplier Requests: Manage Pre-Evaluation Questionnaire (PEQ) requests for new suppliers, including tracking and progressing approvals through the relevant systems.
  • Purchase Order Expediting: Monitor supplier performance and follow up on orders to ensure delivery dates and quantities are met, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Negotiation: Lead negotiations on lower-value, lower-complexity purchases to secure favourable pricing and terms.
  • Opportunity Identification: Analyse purchase data to identify opportunities for cost savings, spend consolidation or improved compliance with supplier agreements.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience working within procurement, purchasing or supply chain roles
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and purchase-to-pay processes
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational abilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
