Credit Controller
Full Time / Part Time Considered
Salary: £25,000–£28,000 (DOE)
Location: Liverpool

Key Skills & Competencies

Proven experience in credit control, ideally within the construction industry

Strong understanding of CIS regulations and processes

Experience with subcontractor control and RCV regulations

Excellent communication skills

Strong organisational abilities with confidence in prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines

Competent user of CIS software
Key Responsibilities
Credit Management
-
Monitor and manage client accounts to ensure timely payments
-
Regularly review aged debtors and take proactive steps to reduce overdue balances

Manage subcontractor control, including maintaining reports, reconciliations, and preparing mid-month and month-end payment runs

Conduct weekly reviews of amounts outstanding to ESD

Maintain up-to-date subcontractor insurance documentation
CIS Compliance

Verify subcontractor details in line with CIS requirements

Ensure accurate CIS deductions and payments

Submit CIS returns and maintain appropriate records for audit readiness
Debt Recovery

Issue monthly sales applications, valuations, reminders, and statements

Chase outstanding payment certificates

Ensure timely processing and review of payment certificates, including M&E split

Follow up on final accounts both internally and externally
Reporting

Prepare regular reports on credit control performance, outstanding debts, and CIS compliance

Update key reports on a consistent basis

Provide management with updates on high-risk accounts
Stakeholder Communication

Work closely with the finance team to reconcile accounts

Liaise with clients and subcontractors to resolve discrepancies or disputes

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Hours of Work

Monday–Thursday: 8am–5pm

Friday: 8am–4pm

Part-time hours (32 hours) considered, with flexibility on start/finish times for the right candidate
