We are currently looking to support our client – an expert technical consultancy working in the Energy and Waste sectors – with a requirement for a Senior Mechanical Engineer. This will be based out of their Dublin office but providing design and engineering consultancy services across the Republic of Ireland on renewable and power generation projects.
This will be a full-time, permanent staff role offering a competitive, negotiable, salary and attractive package benefits including pension, private medical scheme, life assurance and company bonus schemes. The role may also involve periodic and extended stints based in the UK supporting similar UK project work. As such a UK or EU passport will be necessary to ensure people can travel and work freely. What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join us in Ireland, Central Dublin. The successful candidate will be adept at blending their technical ability, excellent communication skills, and flair for creative problem solving to assist our clients across a wide range of projects and industries.
We work on a wide range of energy generation technologies. Candidates who have excelled in the development and delivery of thermal process elements of power projects in Ireland will be of interest to us. This consultancy role is permanent in nature and will be based out of our Dublin office, working across Ireland and occasionally in England or Scotland.
We are looking for:
- a degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- ideally a Chartered Engineer;
- expert working knowledge of waste, renewables or gas fired power plants;
- experience with power plant concept development, layout design, and project consenting;
- technical specification development and negotiation with OEMS and EPC contractors;
- experience with managing project design reviews and site surveillance roles during construction;
- some experience with Irish Construction Regulations;
- strong project management and commercial knowledge, having drafted, negotiated, and administered contracts for power/process plant construction;
- prior construction phase experience of new power plants;
- experience with vendor and acquisition due diligence;
- good working knowledge of power industry design codes, including BS, ASME and EN.
- an interest in emerging technologies for example; carbon capture and storage, hydrogen production and storage, or liquid air energy storage.
- The ability to work and travel in both Ireland and the UK without any working visa issues.
