We are currently looking to support our client based in Paris, France with a requirement for a Structural Engineer proficient in SACS software – specialising in offshore structures related to the oil and gas sector.
This will be a 6 month contract initially, starting as soon as possible and with potential extensions to follow. No financial assistance with travel or accommodation costs will be provided but the client operates a hybrid policy where up to 10 days per month can be worked from home.
Candidates will be required to obtain eligibility to work in France via a relevant work permit or VISA. Candidates will need to utilise a compliant payroll option for France involving the necessary registrations and declarations in France to remain compliant with local authorities. These include the Enterprise Individuelle scheme, French umbrella, or self employed via a French accountancy.
A description is given below but this not a Senior level role and candidates will require a minimum of 2 years relevant experience working on offshore topside EPC projects. Calculation experience using SACS software is also necessary. Purpose of the Service
- Modelling of the offshore steel structure using Staad Pro & SACS
- Regulatory verification of the structure for fatigue during transport
- Design of any reinforcements and modifications to be made
- Preparation of the calculation report summarizing the calculation results
- Transfer of necessary information for developing the structural plans
REQUIRED SKILLS
The studies carried out by the SERVICE PROVIDER require the following skills:
Knowledge and experience within the specifics of offshore structural design and calculation. Offshore installation know-how. Knowledge and experience of applicable codes (API, AISC, etc.). Knowledge of Staad Pro & SACS offshore structural calculation software. Ability to apply project procedures: - From the perspective of compliance with document flow. - From the perspective of strict application of task execution procedures. Ability to work with the standards, rules, and design instructions of the project concerned. Understanding of technical English (reading/comprehension of technical documents). Ability to provide technical reporting to the Project Manager.
