Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Flow Assurance Engineer to support our client based in Surrey on a 6 month contract basis with the possibility for further extensions. This will be office based for a minimum of 3 days per week with the possibility for 2 days hybrid working from home. This is an outside IR35 contract role meaning Limited Company contractors can operate and a limited rate of £60 - £63 p/h is available. As a UK temporary contract role candidates MUST possess existing eligbility to work in the UK without need for further sponsorship.

You will work as part of small project teams developing concept and early project definition in the Oil and Gas sector. Act as a flow assurance engineer on a range of upstream projects, and conduct Flow Assurance studies using software packages, e.g., OLGA, PIPESIM etc.

  1. Develop pipeline simulation models, perform simulations of selected cases as defined by self / project and assess simulation results.
  2. Perform design calculations and prepare technical reports in accordance with company and project quality requirements.
  3. Report to flow assurance SME.
  4. Contribute to flow assurance strategies, philosophies and procedures.
  5. Demonstrate excellent technical report writing and presentation skills.

Requirements/Qualifications  Experience in single and multiphase pipelines (steady state and transient hydraulic) analyses using industry standard software, e.g., OLGA, PIPESIM, PIPENET etc. is essential.

  1. Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in flow assurance modelling using OLGA transient simulation software.
  2. Experience in assessing flow assurance issues like slugging, hydrates, wax, erosion, corrosion, etc. by use of simulation software and providing the best mitigation solutions.
  3. An ability to work in a collaborative way as part of a multi-discipline project group with minimum supervision.
  4. Experience in pipeline sizing and thermo-hydraulics Studies, transient analysis covering shut down, blowdown, start-Up, ramp-up/turndown scenarios.
  5. Experience in pipeline overpressure protection studies, including surge pressure analysis.
  6. Knowledge of flow assurance issues, including slugging, hydrates, wax, erosion, corrosion etc. and mitigation methods.
  7. Good understanding of thermodynamics and experience with Multiflash preferred.
  8. Knowledge of applicable regulations, codes, and standards.
  9. Excellent computer skills, as well as excellent oral/written presentation/report writing skills.
  10. Ability to work well independently and in a team.
  11. Experience in flow assurance conceptual and front-end studies, and topsides process engineering activities, including process modelling in HYSYS, would be an advantage but not essential.
  12. Proven ability to plan and execute studies.
  13. Ability and experience in presenting to clients.
  14. Operational experience would be a benefit but not essential.
