CAD / Revit User (Mechanical) – 9579/31 Rochdale Permanent

Up to £45k negotiable DOE

DATS Engineering is working on behalf of a specialist design and build contractor supporting projects across the pharmaceutical, life science, and healthcare sectors. Our client delivers cutting-edge environments such as cleanrooms and laboratories, maintaining a strong focus on innovation, compliance, and excellence throughout each project phase — from consultancy and design to construction, commissioning and validation.

Due to continued growth, we’re now looking to recruit an experienced CAD / Revit User (Mechanical) to join the team at their Rochdale office.

The Role

Reporting to the Mechanical Design Lead Engineer, you’ll play a key role in producing high-quality, fully coordinated mechanical design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software. You will support concept through to detailed design, ensuring all outputs meet technical, health & safety, and quality standards.

You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary design and installation team and contribute to the development of junior engineers and apprentices. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly specialised team working on technically demanding projects in highly regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed mechanical designs and coordinated drawings using AutoCAD and Revit Translate engineer’s concepts and mark-ups into accurate, professional drawings Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental standards Work within ISO 9001-accredited quality systems Support project delivery in line with BIM Level 2 standards Assist with surveys and the creation of “as-built” models Contribute to clash detection processes using Revit or Navisworks Help prepare statutory documentation and submission transmittals Maintain drawing standards and file management procedures

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum ONC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit (latest versions) Experience of mechanical design in highly regulated environments, ideally pharmaceutical or healthcare Working knowledge of BIM processes and standards Strong understanding of view control, Revit templates, and drawing presentation standards Knowledge of CDM regulations and the ability to produce design risk assessments Excellent communication and teamworking skills Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines IT literate, particularly in Microsoft Office Full, clean UK driving licence

Desirable Experience

Familiarity with Navisworks, Dynamo, or VR/visualisation tools Experience working in laboratories or cleanroom environments Understanding of content creation in Revit Exposure to document management systems and common data environments (CDEs)
