Job Title: CompEX Electrician / Electrical Technician

Location: Various client sites across North West England & North Wales (occasional travel further afield required)

Contract: Permanent, Full Time or Contract (outside IR35)

Hours: Standard working week (with some out-of-hours work required)

Salary: £30 per hour, DOE

We are seeking a skilled CompEX Electrician/Electrical Technician to join our client’s Compliance Site Services team. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for electrical and instrumentation inspection, testing, maintenance, and commissioning on customer sites - primarily across the North West and North Wales, with some nationwide travel.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting inspections and testing of electrical equipment in hazardous (ATEX) areas in line with IEC 60079

  • Fixed wire testing, MCC inspections, fault finding and remedial works

  • Supporting small projects, upgrades and breakdown response

  • Performing site surveys and safety system function tests

  • Liaising with clients and site teams to manage workload and deadlines

  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with NICEIC and internal standards

  • Occasional overnight stays as required by project locations

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

  • C&G 2391 (or equivalent) Inspection & Testing qualification

  • CompEX certification (essential)

  • ECS Gold Card

  • Strong background in industrial electrical/EC&I work, ideally on chemical or petrochemical sites

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

  • Valid UK driving licence with minimal endorsements

  • Good IT literacy (MS Word, Excel etc.)

Desirable:

  • NICEIC Qualified Supervisor experience

  • Site Safety Passport (Supervisor or Operative level)

  • Multi-discipline engineering knowledge (training can be provided)
