Job Title: Electrical Engineer (High Voltage - HV)
Location: Warrington - office based with local site vists
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (Part-Time/Ad Hoc Considered)
Start Date: June 2025
Rate: Competitive

We are currently seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrical Engineer to provide engineering services on a contract basis for an initial period of 12 months. This role will be based in Warrington, with flexibility for part-time or ad hoc engagement where appropriate. Work must be performed in the office however - with no hybrid working possible and the likelihood for some site visits travelling around the local area

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys, client visits, and attend project meetings

  • Produce HV electrical cable routing drawings and schedules

  • Deliver detailed HV electrical engineering design

  • Create HV cable diagrams and loop diagrams

  • Prepare installation scopes of work and datasheets

  • Review and approve engineering design outputs

  • Compile vendor packs for invitation to tender and coordinate vendor liaison

  • Perform technical evaluations of estimates and supplier bids

  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to align design and procurement needs

  • Provide technical input on equipment specifications and compliance matters

Requirements:

  • HNC (minimum) in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I); degree preferred

  • Strong background in HV calculations and project delivery to spec, budget, and timeline

  • Working knowledge of ATEX Directives for hazardous area equipment selection (advantageous)

  • Confident communicator with experience attending and contributing to stakeholder meetings

  • Desirable experience in distribution systems, motor control, and Pro/Engineer software

  • Proven track record in UK onshore HV engineering, particularly in COMAH-regulated environments
