Electrical Team Leader – Permanent Role
Location: Staffordshire (with regular travel to client sites)
Salary: £47,840 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Pattern: 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm, Friday 7:30am – 2:00pm
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Electrical Team Leader to lead a team of Electrical Technicians in a busy workshop environment. The role involves overseeing electrical build and installation work, managing team performance, and supporting workshop delivery, quality, and compliance targets.
Electrical Team Leader Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, lead and motivate a team of Electrical Technicians, ensuring high standards of workmanship and performance
- Provide hands-on support for electrical installation and testing, including CompEx inspections
- Validate BOMs before release from stores
- Coordinate planning and scheduling of electrical work with the Production Manager
- Manage progress reporting and departmental target achievement
- Mentor apprentices and junior staff, supporting team development and skills matrices
- Collaborate with mechanical team leads to coordinate workshop and site demand
- Allocate work, identify resource gaps, and resolve production build issues
- Maintain high levels of workshop health, safety, and cleanliness
- Support KPIs, quality assurance, and QHSE procedures
- Assist with HR tasks including performance reviews and absence management
- Deputise for the Production Manager when needed
Electrical Team Leader Essential Requirements
- Time-served qualified Electrician, experienced in hazardous areas
- NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Installation
- Compex EX01–04
- City & Guilds 18th Edition and 2391 Inspection & Testing
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
- Proven experience leading and developing technical teams
- Strong organisational, communication, and attention to detail skills
Electrical Team Leader Desirable Requirements
- Good level of IT literacy
- Understanding of 5S and lean principles
- Previous gas industry or National Gas experience
- EUSR Gas Safety Passport, SCO91, SCO Core (1&2), EL6 Authorised Person
- Fire Marshal, Site Safety Management/Supervisor training
