Description

Our client based in Surrey requires an Instrument Engineer to work on an offshore project. This will be working on an initial 8 month contract role starting as soon as possible. Further extensions may well be possible.

The role will be full time and office based in Surrey but with the flexibility to allow up to 2 days per week (maximum) to be worked from home/remotely. Limited company contractors will be able to operate as the role has been determined outside of IR35. Rates have not been confirmed but are believed to be in the region of £55 per hour.

 Job Description

 Responsibilities:

Design instrumentation systems in collaboration with other disciplines.

Produce documentation such as General Arrangement drawings, Electrical Detail Drawings, and Loop drawings.

Review existing documentation.

Prepare work packages for installation.

Specify and order instrumentation, cables, and equipment.

 

Desired Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in offshore-related projects.

Strong background in engineering design.

Excellent English skills, both spoken and written. Proficiency in Norwegian is a plus.

Good knowledge of standards such as ATEX, Norsok, Equinor TR (Technical Requirements), STID, ProCoSys, W3, ARIS.

Extensive knowledge of modifications on operational offshore installations (VEM/V&M).

Strong understanding of instrumentation used in the oil industry.

Good knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.

Offshore certification is an advantage.

 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation/Automation Hardware.

Technical College degree is acceptable with extensive experience in Brownfield modification projects.
