DATS is currently seeking a Working Environment Engineer on behalf of our client. The role is for a Norwegian project, initially for a 12-month contract with an immediate start. The target limited company rate is negotiable and is likely to be outside IR35.

The position will primarily be office based in Surrey, with the possibility of hybrid working, allowing for two days remote.

 

Job Description

As a vital member of our project team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Working Environment scope. This includes:

  • Demonstrating expertise in current regulations and standards governing the working environment.

 

  • Providing assessments and contributing valuable insights to the design and deliverables associated with the working environment, encompassing:
    • o Accessibility/transport
    • o Ergonomics
    • o Noise/acoustics
    • o Vibrations
    • o Illumination
    • o Chemical exposure
    • o Life-saving equipment
    • o Radiation
    • o Outdoor operations
    • o Indoor climate

 

  • Utilising WEHRA (Work Environment Hazard and Risk Assessment) and conducting Human Factor Analysis to ensure comprehensive evaluation and optimization of the working environment.

 

  • Take part in, offer input, and facilitate design and construction reviews, with a focus on the working environment.

 

  • Contribute to survey checklists and reports.

 

  • Provide input on internal design specifications and specifications for suppliers and third parties.

 

  • Ensure suppliers are followed up with regarding the quality and timeliness of working environment deliverables.

 

  • Work closely with other disciplines and departments to ensure that working environment requirements are understood and incorporated into their deliverables.

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience in the Oil & Gas sector is desirable.

 

  • Ideally, the candidate will possess working knowledge and experience with "NORSOK S-002 Working Environment".

 

  • Capable of independently managing any specific area within the Working Environment scope.

 

  • Skills acquired through undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including final-year design projects and any work placements, are advantageous.
