Description

We’re looking for an Offshore Operations Engineer reporting to the Installation Manager for an initial 12-month contract (inside IR35) with likely 12-month extensions.

 

This is on a 2:2 weekly rotation working back-to-back.

Our client is moving to a phase of decommissioning to be followed by a repurposing for carbon capture so the work will be interesting!

 

The Offshore Operations Engineer is based offshore and is to provide technical, maintenance and engineering technical support to the Site Operations team. Focal point for coordination of facilities engineering activities and projects offshore to minimise single point failures and expedite equipment back into service in a cost-effective manner. Support root cause analysis. Supporting the Management of Change process, leading incident investigations and risk assessment. Reviewing and updating procedures, integrated management system, planning and scheduling, maintenance reporting, contracts, cost control and team leadership in accordance with the Company plans, management systems and all applicable legislation.

 

What does the job involve?

 

  • Work in direct support of OIM.
  • Provide specialist technical, engineering and leadership into operational, planning and engineering issues.
  • Support operational risks ensuring appropriate prioritisation, mitigation, and contingencies.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the offshore process and systems.
  • Close liaison with onshore teams for optimisation and report in all functional areas, as required.
  • Act as focal point for offshore Management of Change and other technical reviews, assessments and execution as required, including Decommissioning and future Carbon Capture activities.
  • Ensure a safe system of work by compliance to Company procedures, work permits and risk assessments.
  • Support planning and investigation of production outage or loss.
  • Lead/attend Hazops/Hazids/WPRA/Toolbox talks as required.

 

May be required to work from other offshore site sand potentially onshore as part of a rotational pattern and/or for special projects.

 

What skills and experience do you need?

 

Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering with accreditation by professional body. (preferred)

Significant oil and gas industry experience in process facility production operations.

Leadership and management experience in an offshore production facility.

Thorough knowledge of HSE management systems in an offshore hydrocarbon facility.

Knowledgeable in relevant Regulatory requirements and Legislation (e.g., DCR, PUWER, HSW, RIDDOR, PFEER).

 

Working Conditions:

Certified to work offshore (BOSIET, OGUK Medical).

 

May need to work onshore as part of the rotation and/or for specific projects as required by Company.

 

What is the pay for the role?

 

DAY rate umbrella or “Paye” Market rate £700-850 per day
