Description

DATS Recruitment is looking to hire a Commissioning Engineer for Rossendale. The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of around £45,000, with overtime paid when on site, as well as travel time. Additionally, the role includes 25 days of paid holiday, increasing to 27 after five years of service, and a pension plan.

The position offers flexible start times and a 35-hour work week. Furthermore, there is a performance-related bonus of up to 5%. The role comes with a full-service van, fuelled, plus a mobile phone and laptop.

Our client has become the UK’s leading weighing and metering specialist. They are a privately owned family company with over 40 years’ experience. As part of their continuing growth, they are now looking to appoint a staff Commissioning Engineer to work throughout the UK and overseas.

The job entails extensive weekly travel, estimated at up to 100 nights away from home each year, in addition to daily visits. Travel locations include sites throughout the UK and overseas, with overseas visits possibly lasting up to three weeks.

When not on site, there is a requirement to be in the Rossendale office. This role offers a dynamic and challenging opportunity for a Commissioning Engineer looking to make a significant impact.

key role responsibilities of a Commissioning Engineer:

  • Ensure equipment operates according to specifications.
  • Provide advice and make improvements to operational procedures.
  • Manage work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Develop and conduct test procedures.
  • Investigate and diagnose faults and provide troubleshooting solutions.
  • Write reports and documentation.
  • Offer technical support.
  • Train clients' maintenance and operation staff as needed.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure proper project installation, both electrically and mechanically.
  • Perform electrical rotation checks, 10 checks, calibration of sensors and weighing machines, and ensure correct pneumatic formulation with appropriate pressures and flow rates.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Software Engineers.
  • Coordinate with Electrical and Mechanical Contractors during installation to ensure work meets acceptable standards.
  • Produce and send daily site reports to the Project Engineer.
  • Maintain a daily log detailing site progress and issues for successful completion.
  • Flag potential issues and suggest fixes as early as possible.

 

Qualifications:

Good level of academic qualification (electrical / control and instrument background preferred)

5+ years relevant experience in commissioning.
