Project Manager

Location: Frimley, Surrey
Rate: £38.00 - £58.00 per hour (Inside IR35)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 9 months contract

This role is initially office-based full-time, with increased flexibility available after the onboarding period.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a specialist engineering team delivering complex projects within the energy sector. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of multiple engineering projects from initial customer requirements through to final delivery and project close-out.

Working within a global environment, you will collaborate closely with customers, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating project activities, managing risks and opportunities, supporting engineering teams, and ensuring successful project execution across international locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage engineering projects from handover through to completion and close-out.

• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality requirements.

• Coordinate activities between customers, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and internal stakeholders.

• Monitor project performance, costs, schedules, and risks, providing regular progress updates and reports.

• Lead and support Project Engineers to achieve project objectives.

• Oversee manufacturing activities, trial assemblies, installation support, and site-based activities where required.

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

• Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.

Essential Requirements

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in an Engineering-related discipline.

• Previous experience in Project Management, Project Execution, or a similar engineering project delivery role.

• Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.

• Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.

• Experience working with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of contractual obligations.

• Excellent communication, organisational, and planning skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Desirable Requirements

• Degree qualification in an Engineering discipline.

• Formal Project Management qualification or certification.

• Experience within Oil & Gas, Energy, Process, or Industrial sectors.

• Knowledge of industry standards such as NACE, ASME, NORSOK, PD5500, or equivalent.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.

• Practical site-based experience within engineering or industrial environments.
