About the Role:

 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Principal C & I Engineer to join a dynamic and expanding control and instrumentation team. As the Principal Engineer, you will manage medium-sized projects or oversee packages on larger projects, guiding a dedicated team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver high-quality outcomes. You will play a crucial role in fostering client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and supporting daily operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage and deliver control and instrumentation projects, ensuring they meet time, quality, and budget constraints.
  • Lead and develop a team of Engineers and Technicians, promoting high standards and professional growth.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, both internal and external.
  • Oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical power systems.
  • Contribute to all project stages from feasibility studies to decommissioning, ensuring functional safety at every stage.
  • Occasionally visit project sites and travel throughout the UK as required.

Essential Requirements:

 

  • Extensive experience in EC&I design and project management.
  • Proven experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Knowledge of hazardous area equipment selection and installation design requirements.
  • HNC or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • Actively pursuing professional registration (CEng/IEng).

 

Desirable Qualifications:

 

  • Degree in Control and Instrument Engineering.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical clean room equipment and design requirements.
  • Understanding of safety-related calculations and safety reviews (HAZOP, LOPA, SIL assessments).
