We are currently in need of a CAD Coordinator and System Administrator with expertise in SmartPlant S3D for an offshore project. This is an initial 6-month contract role with an immediate start, and we are targeting a competitive limited company rate of approximately £55 - £60 per hour.

The position requires working in our clients Offices in Surrey for five days a week, with the potential for hybrid working, allowing for two days of remote work.

 What does the job of a CAD Coordinator and System Administrator involve?

In a supervisory role, you will oversee and perform various tasks related to 3D CAD coordination, management, and system administration. Manage system setup, administration, and maintenance while coordinating the development of the 3D SmartPlant S3D model. Ensure project deliverables align with specified requirements and comply with company and client standards. Coordinate with IT Support to resolve CAD application issues promptly.

Responsibilities of a CAD Coordinator and System Administrator:

  • Create and implement CAD Management policies, plans, specifications, and procedures, ensuring compliance with naming conventions, hierarchy, and data content.
  • Develop 3D model hierarchy and naming conventions in line with project requirements.
  • Execute the 3D CAD plan.
  • Develop detailed work instructions and job notes.
  • Ensure successful CAD Management activities and deliverables according to agreed schedules.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve CAD Management processes, systems, and tools for efficiency.
  • Regularly communicate with multi-office CAD teams through coordination meetings and briefings to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Support the correct deployment and utilisation of CAD Management systems.
  • Generate discipline 2D deliverables from SmartPlant S3D.
  • Create regular project review models.
  • Incorporate supplier 3D models for space reservation and clash detection.
  • Generate project 3D visualization images using Navisworks.
  • Manage software problems, reporting to the Service desk.
  • Support the introduction and upgrade of software/application versions.
  • Provide desktop support and troubleshoot SmartPlant 3D applications.
  • Interface with IM Data management for 3D model progress measurement and coordinated 2D and 3D data flow.
  • Support 3D model object engineering and model status reporting.
  • Manage clash detection and reporting.

What is the pay for the role of a CAD Coordinator and System Administrator?

£55 per hour (LTD Co.) (outside IR 35 – subject to an assessment
