Must be degree qualified or Chartered Engineer.
Local candidates preferred but relocation package for those out of the area will be considered.
Permanent position salary £32-40K + bonus + pension +generous holidays.
This role has been readvertised due to the continued expansion or our client's business and the need for several more engineers!!
Need British Passport to obtain SC level security clearance and the last 5 years working in UK.
Blue chip company . International work.
3-5 years experience in a design / specification role in a process type industry. For example oil, gas,chemical , nuclear. Power generation.
However candiates who can show experience in say the control aspects automotive or food or any other machinery type process (PLC, SCADA ,DCS)
Will need to gain security clearance ( SC level) a process which will take for a UK passport holder 8-12 weeks. For non British Passport holders this process would take up to 12 months!

Job purpose & key responsibilities:
The role will be as an Engineer within the C,E & I section reporting to the C,E & I Design Manager but under the direct supervision of the Project Lead Engineer.
The person will be required to produce detailed technical specifications for the project including equipment functional specifications and control system logic specifications.
They will need to work with subcontractors and check and approve detail design drawings. They may also be required to check supplier's test specifications and possibly attend tests at supplier's factories.
They will be required to liaise with the Lead C,E & I Engineer and other specialist engineers within the section to understand the C,E & I to ensure the satisfactory delivery of this work. Internally they will present information for design reviews and safety reviews.
The work will also involve specifying and checking the designs of subcontractors to confirm compliance . The role will be office based near Chester but travel to European suppliers.
Requirements:
Experience of working in the nuclear industry is preferred but experience in any large process industry is acceptable. ( by which we mean chemical, oil/gas,water etc General manufacturing could be applicable if experienced in the design of PLC's SCADA ,DCS for example food industry or glass or automotive ( design of production lines)
A good degree is essential in electrical or electronic engineering.
Experience of specifying or designing control systems for a range of applications in process factories is essential together with the capability to produce high quality written specifications and reports. The candidate should have experience of having worked with a range of subcontractors in a multinational organisation and having supervised the provision of design information by subcontractors. Some practical experience of having been involved in equipment testing is required.
A high level of computer literacy is essential including the ability to use spreadsheets to perform engineering analysis . Also the ability to generate logic diagrams using Visio is desirable.
All candidates will have to do a drug and alcohol test as part of a total medical.
