To be successful in one of these roles you will have a mechanical degree (or equivalent) and be a member (or working towards membership) of a relevant engineering institution. You will have experience of working on the mechanical elements of water and wastewater treatment plants.
A worldwide team of professionals involved in designing, managing and implementing leading edge programmes and projects in the water, environmental and energy sectors currently have a number of opportunities for Mechanical Design Engineers for a new office in Solihull. My client would welcome applications from candidates with some experience within this role, up to lead positions.
The Solihull office will work for a number of clients to deliver a number of major projects as part of the AMP4 capital investment programme.
Projects will range in size from less than 50K up to around £30 million looking at nutrient removal, sludge treatment, quality improvements, asset maintenance and will generally involve working in multi-discipline teams.
Mechanical Engineers provide technical expertise in the area of all mechanical plant. The work will include the mechanical input from feasibility through to Construction and Commissioning on a wide variety of projects.
Key tasks will include:
* Liaise with Clients and Contractors to identify opportunities and develop business relationships.
* Undertake site inspections, carry out feasibility reviews and work up proposals for the schemes
* Produce the technical mechanical specifications and deliverables of the scheme in accordance with current legislation and standards for the scheme requirements
* Liaise with Subcontractors and deal with technical queries
* Undertake factory acceptance testing of mechanical plant
* Testing and commissioning on site
To be successful in one of these roles you will have a mechanical degree (or equivalent) and be a member (or working towards membership) of a relevant engineering institution. You will have experience of working on the mechanical elements of water and wastewater treatment plants.
You will have experience of working on the design development and detailed design phases of wastewater treatment plant projects. In addition to the required technical skills, you should have the ability to work well within a team environment, have a strong client service focus and excellent organisational skills.
