Tunnel Engineer - Warringotn - Permanent
We currently have a vacancy for a Tunnel Engineer to join a team in Warrington. The Design Engineer will need experience in the design of tunnels and shafts for the water industry. The successful candidate will need previous experience in the structural design of tunnel and shaft linings in soft ground and rock, for tunnels the in the range of 0.75m to 4.0m in diameter.
In addition the successful candidate will have experience in Earth Pressure Balance TBM, Slurry TBM and Micro tunnelling technology for the construction of segmental and pipe jacked tunnels. The successful candidate will need experience in the selection of types of lining and construction methods appropriate to ground conditions and selection of appropriate methods of ground water control for tunnel and shaft construction.
The successful candidate must have experience in the production of design solution reports, design risk assessments, specifications and tender scope books. It is essential that the successful candidate has experience in safety and environmental management related to tunnel and shaft design and construction.
The successful candidate must also have client and third party liaison related to tunnelling projects, including British Rail, Highways Agency and British Waterways approval procedures.
