My client based in Warrington has a vacancy for A Principal Geo Environmental Engineer.
They are looking for a lead technical specialist for land quality and waste management as applied to construction projects on major UK Water Industry Projects and Programmes. The post holder will be responsible for providing pragmatic engineering advice to project teams by managing and directing environmental specialists for in house and external specialist teams.
To be sucessful in this role you should be qualified to degree level in a relevant engineering/geological discipline. An MSc in a relevant geo-environmental discipline would be an advantage.
You should have proven competence in providing advice to engineering teams in a major engineering consultancy or equivalent experience in the public or private sector. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to be able to manage other consultants and develop strong relationships with a number of major clients.
In depth knowledge and experienced in the following areas will be required:
* Current UK standards, methodologies and practice for the analysis of soil and water in relation to land quality and waste management;
* Current UK practice and methodologies for both qualitative and quantitative risk assessments in the context of current UK legislation and construction practice;
* Current UK practice for waste management on major construction projects and a good knowledge of emerging remediation technologies as applied to the construction industry;
* Inputting to the design, management and execution of geotechnical and geoenvironmental desk studies and site investigations for sites to be developed for water industry projects.
* Preparation and review of interpretative reports covering the investigation and assessment of land quality waste management issues which incorporate client focused and pragmatic solutions that satisfy the requirements of the appropriate regulatory agencies and are compatible with engineering, budgetary and other constraints;
* Experience in the site supervision of construction works will also be an advantage;
* Directing and managing staff to ensure project objectives are achieved;
Managing project programmes, resources and budgets to ensure projects are delivered to client requirements;
* Liaising with and presenting technical information to project teams and clients;
* Client service management and development;
* An astute commercial and practical understanding of waste management business as applied to construction projects.
