14/05/2009 DATS register as Jobcentre Plus Jobsearch Support
Warrington’s specialist recruitment agency register as a supplier to Job Centre Plus to help new unemployed professionals and executives with specialist job search support
The scheme announced by Employment Minister Tony McNulty in April 2009 is designed to offer real and practical help to job seekers to find their way back to work quickly. This is part of the Government’s response to the economic downturn and will run for 2 years. Its aimed at unemployed people who have recently left a professional or executive job and for people engaged through the Job Centre Plus Rapid Response Service (RRS) who are under notice of redundancy.
Job seekers who lack up to date job search skills or need advice on how to transfer or update their skills to secure relevant jobs will be referred to this service by Jobcentre Plus advisors. They will be given a choice of registered agencies within their geographic or industry specialist area and the services include:
- understanding the job seekers situation,
- identifying transferable and marketable skills
- labour market intelligence
- new opportunities / job leads
- advice in analysing vacancy opportunities
- offering current selection techniques advice
- support in job applications
- advice on interview techniques
Chris Lloyd; recruitment consultant at DATS comments: “this scheme has only just been launched recently and we are already experiencing a strong demand for this service”
