Job Vacancy: Instrument Maintenance Engineer
Our client requires an Instrument Maintenance Engineer to join their existing team working on oil & gas projects in Aberdeen on a contract basis.
Duties
Accountable to the Maintenance Team Leader.
This role will form part of a multi-discipline team assembled to support the reliability and maintainability of the offshore asset.
This will entail the undertaking of technical, engineering and operational support across a broad range of activities.
Tasks will include maintaining system operability, promoting operations excellence, identifying and resolving technical issues, understanding health, safety and environmental issues and coordinating/planning plant modifications.
The incumbent will ensure processes, design and plant changes are safe, operationally compliant and cost effective.
Daily support of the Scott asset.
Identify outstanding Instrument Issues using SAP and other database and action registers.
Arrange resources so that back logged instrument activities can be safely and efficiently closed out.
Use companies procedures to execute work and identify methods of complying with companies procedures with maximum efficiency.
Identification of operational/design issues and submission of option recommendations to Facilities Engineering (FE) group for further review.
Provide reliability support to project, including support to Reliability Engineer.
Participate in regular co-ordination briefings are held between offshore and onshore engineers to efficiently liquidate instrument work.
Ensure that all Instrument support activities are executed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the Safety Management System and in compliance with the overall project objectives.
Experience and background
Degree in discipline engineering preferred; or
Other relevant technical qualification supplemented with practical experience of performing in a similar role.
Previous experience of engineering operations support.
Capable of undertaking small focussed project work through inception to completion
Demonstrable experience of providing engineering operations support to offshore assets.
