Job Vacancy: MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Maintenance engineering technician required for a 12 month fixed term contract at a phermaceutical company based in Wrexham. This position will be working annualised hours, hours to be confirmed.
The Job Holder will have served a recognised Mechanical apprenticeship and will ideally have attained an Engineering level qualification i.e. C&G, ONC, BTEC.

The Job Holder will have a working knowledge of diverse computer systems
These could include e.g.

Primary Purpose of Position:

To maintain the pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, equipment and support systems in accordance with site procedures and cGMP practices.
This role will be working annualised hours, however they are currently undergoing an organisational change from 4 on 4 off (12 hour days) to annualised hours. Therefore the shift allowance and pattern is yet to be confirmed.

Main Duties to be performed:

* Maintain, monitor, repair and improve the engineering facilities, equipment and support systems to maximise availability for manufacturing use, with minimal down time,
* To have a high level of technical expertise as a Mechanical Technician and have a good operational understanding of skills within the other core trades. Provide and implement effective solutions to technical problems within that expertise.
* Minimises job activity time and maximises plant / equipment availability. Apply good engineering practices to minimise maintenance costs.
* Undertake plant improvement projects; participate in minor / major projects by acting as a project engineering representative in areas of expertise.
* Work as part of the overall Engineering maintenance teams, being responsible and accountable for, meeting or bettering the Job Holders individual agreed personal/development targets
* Operate safely to achieve or better the Accidents or Environmental Incidents targets based on the Site initiatives

Skills and Knowledge

The Job Holder will have served a recognised Mechanical apprenticeship and will ideally have attained an Engineering level qualification i.e. C&G, ONC, BTEC.

The Job Holder will have a working knowledge of diverse computer systems
These could include e.g.
Networks and Servers, HMI's (Human Machine Interfaces), Specific Vendor Programs, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), Profibus, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers)

Education:

Ideal - The Job holder should be educated to Engineering level qualification i.e. C&G, ONC, BTEC or HNC standards

Minimum - Equivalent standard and have appropriate cGMP training with experience in the Pharma or Food Manufacturing Industry.
