Electrical Engineers to join the Design and Build team of a company based in Solihull
To be successful in one of these roles, you will have an electrical engineering degree and be a member (or be working towards membership) of a relevant engineering institution. Experience of working on the electrical elements of water and wastewater process plants and networks would be beneficial.
A worldwide team of professionals involved in designing, managing and implementing leading edge programmes and projects in the water, environmental and energy sectors currently have a number of opportunities for Electrical Engineers to join the Design and Build team of my client based in Solihull. My client would welcome applications from candidates with some experience within this role, up to lead positions.
The Solihull office is currently working for a number of major clients including Thames Water, Southern Water, Wessex Water, Welsh Water and Severn Trent to deliver a significant number of major projects as part of the AMP4 capital investment programme.
The team is responsible for the design and delivery of schemes including:
* Wastewater Treatment Works to upgrade the quality of water released into rivers and the sea
* Water Treatment Works to improve, upgrade and enlarge supply
* Schemes to help safeguard water supplies including service reservoirs and network projects
* Work to start addressing Government plans for new housebuilding in the South-East
Projects will range in size from less than £50k up to around £50 million looking at new build, quality improvements and asset maintenance and will generally involve working in multi-discipline teams.
Electrical Engineers provide technical expertise in the area of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA). The work will include the EICA input from feasibility through to Construction and Commissioning on projects for Southern Water's AMP 4 programme.
Key tasks will include;
* Liaise with Clients and Contractors to identify opportunities and develop business relationships
* Undertake site inspections, carry out feasibility reviews and work up proposals for the schemes
* Produce the technical EICA specifications and deliverables of the schemes in accordance with current legislation and standards for HV, LV and ICA scheme requirements
* Liase with Subcontractors and deal with technical queries
* Undertake factory acceptance testing of MCCs; PLC Software and Hardware; SCADA; Switchgear; Generators; etc
* Testing and commissioning on site
To be successful in one of these roles, you will have an electrical engineering degree and be a member (or be working towards membership) of a relevant engineering institution. Experience of working on the electrical elements of water and wastewater process plants and networks would be beneficial. In addition to the required technical skills, you should have the ability to work well within a team environment, have a strong client service focus and excellent organisational skills.
