NORTH WEST REGIONAL OFFICE MANAGER
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Process Consultancy, Business Development, Sales Support, Financial
Control of the Business, Control of Projects, Management of Staff, Office Administration
MAIN DUTIES WITHIN KEY AREAS:
Consultancy to Term Services to Client
Feasibility studies
Process improvement studies
Order of magnitude estimates
Hazop support
GMP reviews
Business Development
Agree and implement Business development plan including a Market Focus
Development of a preferred customer base
Identify and develop the key skills base
Sales Support
Manage (with support) external and internal sales & proposals activity
Develop and approve estimates for man-hours and cost of works
Develop short and long term customer relationships
Financial Control of Business
Preparation of annual budgets, quarterly reviews
Development of tactical and strategic business plan
Produce department monthly reports
Proactive management to achieve a positive profit on a monthly basis and grow a successful business
Control of Projects
Play a leading role in delivering / managing detailed engineering, validation, and business support functions to clients on a multi-discipline basis
Achieve cost, quality, programme and safety targets on projects
Carry out Safety Audits
Control change
Staff Management
Implement the companies safety policy and arrangements
Arrange necessary appraisals, training and development of staff
Continually review staffing levels vs workload
Obtain and allocate suitable resources to projects
Set policy for use of contract staff
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:
(eg need for team working, external and client contacts)
Must be able to lead and inspire a team
Needs to be able to find and develop internal and external contacts at all levels
SPECIAL FEATURES RELEVANT TO JOB:
(eg need for working away from home base/frequency; need for periodic extensive hours)
Job may involve early mornings, late nights and weekend working from time to time
Need to develop practices and procedures to maintain operational control locally, whilst reporting to and using procedures from head office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential: Degree level Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Desirable: Chartered Status
EXPERIENCE:
Essential: At least 5 years experience in Management and Engineering roles of small projects of value from £30k to £5M in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Food industries. Process or Mechanical engineering background.
Desirable: Previous experience in a project management and sales role. Ability to develop & grow a business. Ability to develop long term relationship and carry performance to new heights, through innovation and leadership.

Project Management exposure and excellent engineering skills - process / mechanical
