We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for a part-time Environmental Engineer to join their team in Surrey. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a major energy facility expansion project.
This role is office-based (100% attendance required, 3 days per week) and offers the chance to support Environmental & Social Impact Assessments alongside other environmental design and engineering work.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver environmental scope activities as part of the project team.

Develop reports and documentation including:

Environmental Philosophies
-
ENVID Reports
-
Environmental Management Plans
-
Emissions Inventories
-
Terms of Reference (ToRs) for workshops

Scopes of Work (SoWs) for studies
-

Support studies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and align with net-zero goals.

Provide guidance on environmental compliance, ensuring alignment with Best Available Techniques (BAT) and regulatory standards.

Coordinate and liaise with third-party contractors for ESIA and baseline surveys.

Represent environmental considerations in ENVID and BAT reviews.

Manage environmental aspects of projects including budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Skills & Experience

5+ years’ relevant experience (6–10 years typical).

Experience in oil and gas design projects; additional exposure to Wastewater Treatment and Energy Transition projects (e.g. CCSU) desirable.

Strong report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills (Microsoft Office proficiency essential).

Experience with GIS and air dispersion modelling software desirable.

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Membership in a relevant professional institute.
